A three-column photo appears in the Brooklyn Eagle noting “Nothing could keep these Brooklyn residents from enjoying the zestful sport of tobogganing.” The photo shows Walter and Kay O’Malley on a toboggan with friends Mr. and Mrs. Charles P. Mylod, Mr. and Mrs. Edward McLoughlin and Mr. and Mrs. Everett McCooey. “They journeyed to Skytop, Pennsylvania, last weekend, where they hit the trails at the Skytop Club,” the newspaper’s caption read under the heading “No Snow Here, So Brooklynites Go to Mountains”.1

Los Angeles Mayor Norris Poulson and L.A. County Supervisor Kenneth Hahn issue the following statement on their plans to visit Dodgertown in Vero Beach, Florida to encourage the Dodgers to move to Los Angeles. “There was immediate and enthusiastic agreement that there must be a joint effort by the city and county to bring big league baseball to the Los Angeles area as soon as possible. Along with other representatives of both the city and the county, we plan to go to Florida next week to demonstrate to the officials of the Brooklyn Dodgers the sincerity of our interests in bringing a major league franchise here. We also wish, to determine, if possible, the terms and conditions under which a transfer of the Dodger franchise could be arranged.”2
