April 23, 1943
Walter O’Malley travels to La Porte, Indiana for a Board of Directors meeting of the civil engineering firm Todd & Brown, Inc., operators of the Kingsbury Ordnance Plant. During World War II, the Kingsbury plant assembled and produced more than $500 million worth of ammunition of all types. New York-based Todd & Brown also supervised the building of New York’s Rockefeller Center and Virginia’s Old Williamsburg.



April 23, 1948
In his personal appointment book, Walter O’Malley writes “Opening Game @ Brooklyn.” The Dodgers play their home opener against the Philadelphia Phillies at Ebbets Field, losing 10-2.
