All Dodger road games from San Francisco, beginning with the May 9 contest, will be carried on KTTV Channel 11, announces Walter O’Malley. It was the beginning of a partnership with KTTV that lasted for 34 years. According to sportswriter Frank Finch, “In the agreement with KTTV, the Dodgers forfeited rights to charge a fee for the privilege of allowing their games to be televised, O’Malley announced. He said this was done, primarily, because of the high cost of transmitting the picture from San Francisco to Los Angeles.”1
