Biography

Barry Sheehan

Barry Sheehan served as the President of Little League Baseball in Ireland from 1994-1998 and was instrumental in the growth of the game, giving opportunities for youth to participate. He was one of the key architects of finding a location to build fields dedicated to baseball in Ireland. Sheehan told of how his interest in Irish Little League started. Trained as an architect, he went into a sporting goods store and noticed Little League bats were for sale. He decided to offer his assistance to the youth team and found, “I really enjoyed it.” In time, his involvement grew, and he became President, Little League Baseball Ireland. While Sheehan has a passion for baseball, he is an architect by profession and earns a living as the Head of Design and Assistant Head of the TU Dublin School of Creative Arts in The Technological University Dublin, formerly DIT, in Grangegorman, Dublin. Sheehan was formerly the Managing Director of Sharc Design and Sheehan Architects.
