A. J. Buckley of Allied Consolidated Services Co., Inc. of New York sends a letter to Walter O’Malley explaining that the New York Yankees recently purchased from the Dodgers turnstiles from Ebbets Field for use at Yankee Stadium. “The Yankees presently have in their possession 12 of the 24 turnstiles and now offer $1,000 for the 12, or $2,000 for all 24,” writes Buckley.

Walter O’Malley speaks highly of the newly elected Commissioner of Baseball, Bowie Kuhn. “I would describe him as one of the very ablest of the young lawyers. He could have gone very far in his own profession and he could go very far in politics if he chose to do it. He has the command of the language, the mental agility, the physical appearance and the straight eyes to make himself known, heard, and understood....He will not be fazed by any question about the game.” Kuhn served as the Commissioner of Baseball from 1969 to 1984. U.S. Supreme Court Justice Harry A. Blackmun sends his well-wishes to Walter O’Malley at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota upon reading an article in The Washington Post that O’Malley had undergone surgery. Blackmun writes, “I trust that by the time this letter arrives you will be much improved and on your way back into full activity...I well remember the pleasant evening in Los Angeles a year ago last May.”
