Men and machines are working feverishly from dawn to dusk constructing the access road from Dodger Stadium to Riverside Drive and the Golden State Freeway in order to meet the opening of the new ballpark. The huge earthmoving effort requires 30 pieces of equipment, from huge bulldozers and water trucks to drilling rigs in order to create a major access road. Los Angeles Times, December 25, 1961
