Korakuen News, Dodgers Visit, Special Edition Vol. 6 scorecard, 1956

1956

When the Dodgers visited Korakuen Stadium, home of the Tokyo Yomiuri Giants, for games during their 1956 Goodwill Tour to Japan, a special edition scorecard was made available to baseball fans. Keeping score in a book, or in this case a booklet, was an efficient way to become familiar with numbers and players from the home and road teams and to make a permanent record of the inning-by-inning results of the game. Kay O’Malley, wife of Dodger President Walter O’Malley, kept a scorebook for every Dodger game.
