Pagoda presented by Miichiro Katoh to Peter O’Malley

1990

This pagoda is a gift from Miichiro Katoh, the owner of the professional Chunichi Dragons to Peter O’Malley, to honor the Los Angeles Dodgers in their 100th Anniversary season in 1990. The Dodgers’ franchise began in Brooklyn in 1890 and the team relocated to Los Angeles for the 1958 season where they have remained. The Dragons were invited to Dodgertown – Vero Beach, Florida by O’Malley to spend two and a half weeks in Spring Training in 1988. O’Malley welcomed Katoh to Dodgertown with a Dodger jacket.
