Dodger President Peter O’Malley is welcomed to the 1970 Japan Series (October 27) at Korakuen Stadium in Tokyo on the large message board. Fifty years ago, O’Malley became the first Major League Baseball President to attend the Japan Series. The Tokyo Yomiuri Giants played the Lotte Orions and the Giants won the Japan Series in five games to win their sixth consecutive championship.
