In 2022, Chunichi Dragons pitching legend Masahiro Yamamoto was inducted into the Japan Baseball Hall of Fame. In 2016, he is once again on the pitcher’s mound at Holman Stadium, Historic Dodgertown, Vero Beach, Florida.. Yamamoto returned to Dodgertown to film Japan’s prestigious nationwide show “Another Sky.” The format of the Nippon TV Network program features an interview with a guest at their most memorable place in the world and Yamamoto selected Dodgertown because it turned around his baseball career in 1988.

  • Korea Baseball Commissioner Chung Un-Chan, the former Prime Minister of South Korea (2009-2010), corresponds with Peter O’Malley. He wrote, “Since we met more than two and a half years ago in Los Angeles at your office, I always keep your valuable advice in my mind. Commissioner (Rob) Manfred and I discussed numerous issues around MLB, KBO, and global baseball…Meeting with you and Chan Ho Park inspired me and gave me ideas and visions for the future of KBO”  

  • Masahiro Yamamoto, a left-handed pitcher from the Chunichi Dragons who Akihiro “Ike” Ikuhara helped coach at Dodgertown, Vero Beach, FL in 1988, was inducted into the Japan Baseball Hall of Fame.
